Hi! I'm not going to write this in the third person because I feel silly about that. I will just tell you a bit about myself, where I come from, where I am and where I plan to go.
Where I come from
I grew up in Los Angeles and it's outlying barrios. East LA, Lynwood, Compton, Bell Gardens and Huntington Park. These towns are heavily Latino and Black and the cultures were a formative part of my life and a treasure trove of comedy!
My family is mexican with some german ancestry on my mom's side. I grew up with a single mom and 3 sisters.
At around the age of 14 we moved to Anaheim in Orange County where the school I went to was 85% white...talk about throwing me for a loop, this was unlike anything I had ever experienced and I was able to understand some of the cultural and social differences that make up our state and country.
Where I am
31 years old and divorced. Comedy is something I was always attracted to. My very first 8-track as a kid was a compilation of Saturday Night Live skits. I knew then that this is what I wanted to be doing, making people laugh. I have that opportunity now and I take full advantage of it. I try to go to at least 3 open mics a week and am regularly booked at showcases and as a headliner at 50 Mason Comedy Club which I consider to be my "home club". (Thanks Joe, Shel and Susan!)
Where I'm going
I plan on taking this as far as it will get me. I am the type of person who is disciplined and focused on things that I want and what I want is to be professionally FUNNY!
My only goal is to get more stage time and write, perfect and become truly intimate with my chosen craft. Starting this winter/spring I look forward to taking trips to other states to hone my craft in front of varied audiences. Texas, Washington, Southern California, Massachussets...WATCH OUT!
I am currently available for bookings of up to 30 minutes. I am also a writer and fledgling actor. Please contact me for any business opportunities you may have available!
